Craigslist

I am thankful for craigslist. KSL.com and kijiji.com are great too. I love online classifieds. I am obsessed with searching through other peoples junk just by sitting at my on leisure. I am grateful for the internet and the ability to have information at my finger tips. It is such a great tool when used correctly.

The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

I am thankful for the church. I am thankful for my Savior Jesus Christ. I know that He died for us to create the atonement so we can be forgiven for our many many sins. I know that we can return to live with Jesus and Heavenly Father in heaven. I love my family and know that we can be together for eternity because of temple and the covenants we make in there. I know that as a boy Joseph Smith saw a vision and restored the church and that we have modern day Prophet on the Earth today so we can continue to receive revelation today. I Love America! I am so thankful for this country. I am so thankful for the blessings we have and the freedoms we enjoy.

Last Veteran's day I was Student Teaching and Jefferson Elementary had a special assembly where we watched the army veterans raise the flag. Then all together, young and old, we sang the National Anthem. I started to cry. My class asked me what was wrong. I told them how touched I was so to see men that fought in battle so that generations could live on in America. It was the first time that I realized that complete strangers are fighting to keep us safe everyday. I have grown to appreciate that sacrifice more and more now that I am older.

So God Bless the USA!

Sewing

I am thankful for my talent to sew! I love it! I am thankful for pattern making and for those who design great things that i can create! I am also thankful for fabric too! I love flannel the most! It is so soft and wonderful!

I am thankful for this book in particular! It is so so so fun! I definitely recommend it!

Favorite Movies

I love movies that can cheer me up no matter what! Edward Scissors Hands is one of my all time favorites. It is all about an accepting Avon lady that doesn't judge and loves everyone! I want to be like her some day!


I also love Power Rangers. It reminds me of being a little kid. I loved my childhood so much! It makes me happy to reminisce back to when my siblings and I knew every word of that movie and acted it out.


The Blind Side is my new favorite. It is such a touching story. It makes me want to find someone and change their life for the better! It is very inspiring!

Poochies!!

I love LOVE LOVE dogs. They are my favorite animal and can't help but smile no matter what dog i see! I love to walk, play and take care of them. I loved Neiko SO SO much and then had to let him go and i was so sad. Now i walk the dogs at the dog park until i get to have another pup of my own. I just love them! We are planning on getting a bulldog when we leave rexburg!

LOVE MY BED

I love our bed! It is my absolute favorite place. For my birthday I got a heated mattress pad and it makes my bed even more enjoyable! Its hard to get up in the morning but i sleep so wonderful so for that i am very thankful!

Our Woodshed

We love the place we live! Our kitchen and bathroom are large. Our bedrooms are big! It is very comfortable. Clara had room too! I am thankful to live in a nice place that is comfortable and nice. Its tough to be renters but it is nice when we have a great place to live!

My Job

I am thankful for employment at this time! Since so many people have been loosing their jobs or not finding something. We are able to make enough money so we can build up or savings. Student teaching sucked all our savings so its nice to make a decent amount. Especially for Rexburg.
Today I went to an install and watched one of our workers install dish network. It was crazy to see how tricky it all is. But definitely beneficial. I am learning so much about business, dish, internet and accounting! I have a great boss and coworkers.




Here is a pic of my office. It is cute. It is inside the Wolfe Lighting business!! It is such a beautiful store and its a family owned business and the Wolfe's are often people! So friendly and wonderful. A bit of a plug for them... They are having a sale on their lightbulbs right now that you rexburg people definitely look into! They are selling a pack of 4 lightbulbs for $3 These aren't any regular lighbulbs. They are the spiral kind that are energy efficient. And they have 10,000 (ten THOUSAND) hours of light. Serious. Check them out. They come in 3 colors, warm light, cool light and day light.

Family!

I am thankful for my family.
I know I say it all the time but I really got lucky with my in-laws too! They are wonderful. My whole family just rocks!

I am so lucky to have an eternal family. I was lucky to grow up with everything that I ever needed. I can only hope I can raise my future children the way my parents raised me. I know I am the person I am today because of them!

MARCH MADNESS

I swear this is the the month I start to go crazy!!
Well to keep me sane I have decided to repeat a month of "thankful" posts like I did last year... Seems crazy its been a year since I was in Assessments (aka the hardest class I've ever taken) and 2 years since I have started this blog. Great memories are stored here and I Love It!!

Travis!! or T... I have a habit of calling him that lately.

He is just SO wonderful. To show him how wonderful I think he is I made him a "52 reasons why I love you" book made out of a deck of cards. It was super cute and I was pretty proud of it.

Mattoon Family Photos Display

Over Thanksgiving, we got our photos taken with Travis' side of the family. I just got my copies of the family shot, the "sisters", the brothers and the "kids". I thought they turned out so great a really show off our personalities and style.

Anyways I wanted to display them so went to Porters to get frames or a multiframe mat of some sort and instead I found a really neat shadow box. Opal and I searched through the scrapbooking stuff and gathered supplies. Then I went home and created this:



I hung it over my new kitchen table. I think it turned out perfect!

Sewing

I was on a sewing roll today. Well actually all weekend! I just love when I have new material and new ideas!

Yesterday I spent the afternoon teaching Mindy how to quilt. We are making a "Man Blanket" for her husband. And let me tell you it is manly. Just the size will blow your mind 6 feet by 9 feet!! And this isn't for their bed, just for him to use. He picked out all the fabrics and we just smiled and said over and over "it's a man's blanket" We did get the boy's to come into Porter's!! It was a success!








I have been working hard on a quilt for my GOD-DAUGHTER. Mindy is having a baby girl (Madison) in May! I cannot wait. I have been making her a quilt that I designed myself! The letters are all applique and then I stitched around each letter! I finally finished the top! We are both teachers so I thought the ABC's were appropriate. This is for her crib bedding.










Then later this week I am going to a baby shower for someone I work with. She is having a boy. I recently bought a book called "One Yard Wonders" and I made all of this with one yard of fabric. Cheap fabric too! I thought the frogs we so cute and fun! I made a tag/tactile blanket, a bib, a pair of booties, 4 burp cloths and 4 "wee wee wigwams" (tutorial on Make it of Love it!) and then appliqued my favorite froggie on a onesie! Not bad for a yard of fabric!

And finally I am throwing a shower for Mindy and made these little diapers. On the inside it says

It was a great day. Travis watched 4 movies straight while I was just sewing my little heart out!! So fun!

Its Official!

I am a college graduate. I have a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood/Special Education from Brigham Young University. It felt so good i was squealing and jumping as I opened the envelope! Travis kept telling me to stop smiling when he was taking my picture but I couldn't help it! What a great accomplishment!! All the hard work paid off!

Valentine's Day

Our Valentine's day was wonderful. We celebrated on Saturday which was good because Travis ended up getting pretty sick on Sunday.
I made Travis a little package that was called "I love you with all my senses." I gave him 5 gifts, one for each sense
See- I framed him a puzzle we made together
Hear- I-tunes gift card
Smell- New Cologne
Taste- Cinnamon rolls and steak dinner
Touch- Massage oils for massages


He bought me a new Kitchen Table. I love it so much. I was so excited. I am my mother's daughter. My mom has a fancy kitchen table with all different colored chairs. So naturally i was drawn to this style. We got a killer deal on it so of course i got what i want. :) It is so nice to have new quality furniture that will last a long time. We sold our old table in a day on Bulletin Board. It went so quick.

We ate at the Olive Garden. Yummy. Then he got me the movie Couple's Retreat. We went home and watched it together. It was a good night
